| A born naturalist, Monte Burch learned many primitive skills from his family growing up on a farm in central Missouri. Butchering, making cheese, cutting and heating with wood, gardening and making needed tools and utensils were all learned skills. With Native American blood in his veins, he learned many woodsman and naturalistic skills from an uncle including trapping, hunting, tanning skins, tracking, and survival skills. With an inquisitive mind and help from his mother and uncle he also learned to identify and use many wild plants. |
